Excellent list Victorino. Many of these are my favorite blogs. I was in the process of adding some of these to my feed reader after being inspired by your post. Most where already there but some broken or changed over time. After double checking then realizing that several of the bigger publishers on the list don’t have RSS feeds in xml format. Shocking to me really?!?

If intentional, I guess that is one way to drive email signups (for blog subscription) though maybe at the cost of more RSS subscribers that already get too much email. Some I signed up to via email as their content is plain worth it.

I am fairly sure that some of the blogs impacted are unaware of the issue. Heidi’s xml feed works like a charm. I only mentioned since she commented here and heidicohen.com is on my favorite blogs, where her new posts are discovered and read from within Windows Live, used as my RSS feed aggregator for content curation workflow).

I’ll have to use the potentially unknown RSS feed “deficiencies” as an outreach opportunity as I can assume that I am not alone in relying on RSS to get and parse my content, and who doesn’t want more distribution!

I have also followed some of the best marketing blogs for years. But some of them have declined in the past in terms of quality, frequency and specialty. Some active and great blogs before have also lost their unique identity because of accepting too much guest posts and publishing promotional or advertorial articles.
